Meet My Boyfriend

This is Anthony. We met on a dating app almost seven months ago, and I made the first move. I share that because he hates when I tease him about it so, of course, I shall tease him harder. I used to be embarrassed about using a dating app, but this last go around I realized dating online wasn't that much different than dating in "real life". But that's a post for another day.

I'm here to talk about my boyfriend, out loud, for whoever to read. Now, that may be typical for most people, but not for me. It took me a while to hold his hand in public, to admit I even had a boyfriend and I wasn't eager to share him on social media. Again, details about that in another post for later.

Anthony is a little younger than I am, but he's had to grow up faster than most. We have that in common.

His favorite color is maroon, and he looks so handsome when he wears it.

He loves beef jerky especially the one from the kiosk at the mall.

I recently learned he enjoys history and museums.

He likes taking pictures, and he's pretty good at it.

When we go to a new place, he enjoys trying everything.

He's considerate, patient and kind.

He's willing.

He is a protector.

He is a helper.

He's thoughtful.

He serves well.

He is a little rough around some edges, which makes our relationship a safer place for me to be myself.

He didn't flinch when I told him some dark things about my past.

He didn't skip a beat in falling in love with me as he got to know me. Even when I expected he should.

It's an honor to know him. It's a blessing to be loved by him. It's been the best adventure.
