Family Values

This is one of the questions I ask families during our first meeting. It’s important for me to know what they believe is important for their family. I have my own strategies that help families function at their healthiest, but if they disagree or don’t understand, I want to process more about it. So the authority of the family is invited to share with me what they believe are their family values.

Family values are the foundational “rules” or “standards” created by the authority of the family. At least that’s how it should be. Sometimes there is a rhythm in a family that doesn’t allow for a healthy functioning “system”. What if a family doesn’t know their values or flat out doesn’t have any?

Well that’s where I can help. Values can be discovered and implemented based on these six elements

1. Faith
2. Finances
3. Parent Roles
4. Self Care
5. Boundaries
6. Discipline

What are you family values? What is a foundational standard you raise your family up in?

I break this down and explain further during my time with a family or parenting workshops. Hit the email button above to learn more!
